Below is the schedule lesson plan for four day clinic.
June 21st - 27th
Day 1 - Morning Session:
-Pack saddle types, saddle parts,
-saddling and unsaddling techniques,
Afternoon Session:
-Knots: Tying to the hitching rail using a Bank robbers, Quick release Clove Hitch, Standard Clove Hitch,
-Standard hitching rail tie with daisy chain,
-Bowline knot, and
-Modified Prusik knot
Day 2- Morning Session:
- The sawbuck pack saddle review,
-building a sawbuck bag load,
- building a box load
- tying the Box Hitch & Squaw Hitch
Afternoon session:
- how to pack hand tools.
-diamond hitch
- double diamond
Day 3- Morning Session:
- The Decker Pack saddle review
- Mantee ropes
-building a decker load
Afternoon Session:
-Basket Hitch.
-Christensen Hitch
-Lumber Hitch
Day 4 - Morning Session:
- Highline review & Set Up.
-Other Grazing Options. Electric fence, Bell mare, loose grazing.
Afternoon Session:
- Backcountry vet care,
-backcountry shoeing, things to take and things to leave behind.
- how to build your string,
-Lead the string of mules loaded
